Experiential Facilitators

Join our pool of quality part-time facilitators to meet the ever-increasing demand for experiential programming at Irons Oaks. Interested parties with past experience who may have been out of the game for a while are encouraged to apply; we'll work with you to bring you up to speed. Those without prior experience may register for the Teams and Ropes trainings as an introduction. Programming generally runs seven days a week for a ten-month season. Work schedules are negotiable depending upon your availability and group scheduling.

Nature Kids Camp Counselors Needed!!!

We are looking for quality staff for our summer’s nature day camp! Interested parties with experience working with children (aged kindergarten through 6th grade) or those with little practice, but a desire for experience are recommended to apply! There will be a week of staff training (June 9th – 13th from 9:00am – 3:00pm) to help you understand the themes & grasp the experiential background of the camp.
Campers are on site, Monday – Friday (9:00am – 1:00pm) June 16th – August 8th; with the week of 4th of July (June 30th – July 4th) off. Staff should be available for all of the dates training and programming run. To be considered, applicants must be 18+ years of age.

Naturalist

Join our team of part-time Naturalists in reaching school children and bringing the natural world closer to program participants. Naturalists will conduct environmental education on-site and outreach programs for schools and community groups. Programs are scheduled M-F and vary from 1 ½ to 3 hours long. The season is typically 10 months with the busiest times being spring and fall. Applicants should have a minimum of two years coursework in education, biology, environmental education, or a related field and an interest in the environment and teaching. Experience working with children and the ability to work well along or as part of a team are required. Knowledge of local flora, fauna, and ecological principles desired, but not necessary. Are you looking for service hour opportunities? We are looking for committed volunteers for the length of the summer; coming out one day a week to work & observe Irons Oaks staff plus a few scheduled leadership training dates.
