Irons Oaks Environmental Learning Center is a joint project of the Olympia Fields and Homewood-Flossmoor Park Districts.

For the preservation of this open space for all to enjoy, we ask that you observe the following rules.

1) Groups of 10 or more need a permit to use the grounds. Contact our office for details.

2) STAY ON MARKED TRAILS. NO BICYCLES OR MOTORIZED VEHICLES ALLOWED ON TRAILS.

3) PICK UP LITTER AND CARRY IT TO A REFUSE CONTAINER. Special containers are provided for recyclables and litter.

4) LEAVE PLANTS AND ANIMALS WHERE YOU FIND THEM. Removal of any living thing from the park is prohibited. This includes any part of a living plant. DO NOT PICK ANYTHING.

5) EXCESSIVE NOISE IS PROHIBITED. Be considerate of the wildlife, as this is their home.

6) PARK ONLY IN DESIGNATED AREAS. Parking on Vollmer Road is prohibited. Busses must park at 2453 Vollmer Road.

7) NO TRESPASSING ON NEIGHBORING PROPERTY. This will not be a problem if you remain on marked trails. The golf course is private property and trespassers are subject to arrest.

8) STAY OFF THE TEAMS COURSE, HIGH ROPES COURSE AND CLIMBING TOWER. Use of these structures is allowed only through groups accompanied by a certified instructor. Reservations are required and can be made at the office. If an instructor asks you to leave while a program is in progress, please do so promptly. Respect the "Trail Closed" signs.

9) NO DOGS or other domestic animals are allowed on site.

10) NO ALCOHOL is allowed with out securing an alcohol permit. All other sections within Ordinance #8 must be complied with.

11) CROSSWALK - Vollmer Road is a busy county highway with a speed limit of 40 mph. EXTREME CAUTION should be exercised when crossing this street. Please use the crosswalk at the corner.

12) VIEW THE POND AND MARSH FROM THE DECK PROVIDED. Walking near the edge of the pond disturbs the delicate habitat.

13) NO FIRES or Barbeque Grills allowed.

14) NO DUMPING of dirt, trash, construction materials or yard waste.

15) THE PARK IS OPEN FROM DAWN TO DUSK.

16) BALL PLAYING or other recreational games are PROHIBITED.
