Services for Boy Scouts®:
Irons Oaks is available year-round for your program needs.

All programs prices listed have a group size of 10 participants. For each participant 11-15, an additional $2.00 per person is required. If you have more than 15 participants, a second group will need to be created.

If you are interested in a program for your TIGER, WOLF, BEAR or WEBELOS but it is not listed, let us know! Don't forget we also offer BELT LOOP / PINS.

All Levels -
The Overnight Experience: An Irons Oaks staff member leads your den/pack in a campfire with stories; an outdoor skill; and teach a program to help complete an Elective, Achievement, Badge, Academic Pin, or Belt Loop. We will create a customized program just for you! You will have use of one of our multi-purpose rooms for overnight accommodations. Each scout will earn an Irons Oaks Patch too! All food, personal gear, and scout awards are the responsibility of the group. Irons Oaks provides staff (for the entire time) and all materials to lead the chosen listed programs.
Length: 6:30 pm - 9:00 am Fee: $25 per scout ($250 min.)

Winter Overnight Experience: An Irons Oaks staff member will lead your group through various (weather permitting) activities that cover preparation & stamina for a winter trip and the unexpected winter accident. We can sleep indoors or you can bring your own tents and brave the elements! No food is provided by Irons Oaks (except the s'mores ingredients, if you wish), but a list of groceries to bring will be provided if the group wishes to discuss open fire cooking.

All food, personal gear, and scout awards are the responsibility of the group. Irons Oaks provides staff (for the entire time) and all materials to lead the chosen programming. Each scout will earn an Irons Oaks patch.

Communicating: Have you ever wanted to learn sign language or play a new game? Try this program where reading, writing and other forms of communication are all part of the fun.

Achievement 5 - Let's Go Outdoors: Learn about weather with your five senses, hike our trails with a staff naturalist and make your own leaf id guide.

Elective 32 - Feed the Birds: Make several types of feeders for our feathered friends.

Elective 33-Cleanup Treasure Hunt: Irons Oaks has 40 acres to locate un-natural treasures. Groups will receive a scavenger hunt list, gloves and bags. Sorting of items and prizes will conclude this program.

Elective 47-Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: Did you know that not all plastics can be recycled and the 3 R’s are always in this order? We do, and Irons Oaks would love to show you why.

Wolf -
Achievement 7 - Your Living World: We'll go on an earth-walk, pick up litter, and find other ways to help the environment. Create an action plan for improving your relationship with our planet. Discover how some people are helping the planet.

Elective 13 - Birds: Use binoculars, find nesting materials, build "nests", and share bird stories while on a bird hike through Irons Oaks.

Elective 18 - Outdoor Adventure: We will start off the program with some cooperative games and then go on a hike looking for natural treasures and poisonous plants. When we get back, your den will create their own adventure-treasure trail for the den leaders to follow.

Bear -
Achievement 5 - Sharing Your World With Wildlife: Discover the duties of a wildlife conservation officer, how native wildlife lives at Irons Oaks, and about a native species that is now extinct. Create a poster with all your new found knowledge.

Achievement 22 - Tying It All Up: Learn basic knot skills, including coiling a rope and whipping a rope. We'll also practice your skills at hitting a marker 20 ft. away! At the end of this program, a discussion of how these skills can be useful will take place.

Elective 12 - Nature Crafts: In this program you will make shadow prints of leaves, create animal tracks with eraser prints, and build a water scope to identify aquatic life.

Elective 15 - Water and Soil Conservation: Go to Irons Oaks’ North Side to learn about erosion, pollution, and soil. While you are there, help us manage Butterfield Creek.

Webelos -
Forester: You be able to identify over a dozen woodland plants after this program and you’ll know what herbaceous layer they are found in. Tree ring anatomy and wildfires will also be discussed.

Naturalist: After you learn about flyways, food chains and poisonous plants, Irons Oaks will give you the opportunity to help these natural community members. A discussion of respect will conclude this program.
