A Walk In The Oaks

Take a light nature hike with a Naturalist to learn about the majestic remnant oak woodland that is unique to this area.

Experience the forest from a whole new perspective, 30 feet up in the canopy with the birds! The High Ropes Course is a series of ropes, cables, boards, obstacle crossings and more! Whether you are overcoming a fear of heights or just looking for a new adventure, this program accommodates all. Pre-register by noon on Thursday.

All participants must be in 7th grade or higher and have an Irons Oaks Adventure Center waiver signed to participate. All participants must wear sturdy closed shoes. Please dress to be outdoors for the duration of the program.

$20 Residents/$30 Non-Residents.

 


Mindfulness Walk

Are you looking for ways to release stress? Spiritual Director and Naturalist Deborah Way will lead you through mindfulness exercises and walking techniques that will refresh your peace and calm your mind.  Please register by August 23.

Environmental Talks

Spend one Tuesday a month with an Irons Oaks Naturalist learning about the intriguing, unique and amazing wonders of nature.  In September, we will explore the amazing path animals and insects take while they migrate.  Stick around for coffee and treats afterward.

Fall Leaf Walk

The brilliant shades of fall will be on full display as we explore the forest looking at trees and leaves.  This is perfect for families needing to complete fall leaf projects. Pre registration required.

Creatures of the Mythical Forest
10/27/2018 - 6:30pm - 8:00pm

Harry Potter Wizarding World fans, come to be sorted into your Irons Oaks "House",  and then help our Magical Creatures guide you to solve a mystery during a hike through our own "Forbidden Forest"!  You'll use all of your senses during this night hike, including listening to familiar musical clues!  Children under eight must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Owl Prowl
11/10/2018 - 6:30PM - 8:00PM

Learn about the nocturnal predator, go on an owl hike and enjoy hot chocolate!  Dress for the weather and be prepared for wet or snowy trail conditions.  Pre-registration required.
